The 3.0.1 update of iPhone OS clearly hasn't changed a lot of things in the system. Indeed, RedSn0w is alreaday able to jailbreak the 3.0.1, without having been updated by the Dev-Team.
You juste have to install the 3.0.1, and then launch RedSn0w and follow the instructions, providing a 3.0 IPSW file (and not the 3.0.1 one, which will not be recognized).

Since yesterday, a new version of RedSn0w is available, the 0.8. It will please the iPhone 3GS owners, since this version brings us the ability to jailbreak the latest Apple phone with a few clicks.

The iPhone 3GS is not jailbreakable with existing methods, so the Dev-Team has asked GeoHot to try to find flaws in the new iPhone, as it did a year ago for the iPhone 3G. The genius of computers and electronics was also the originator of the first solution for the iPhone V1, via hardware changes.

After PwnageTool yesterday, it is now RedSn0w that has been updated to allow for jailbreaking iPhone OS 3.0.

The Dev-Team just released its first firmware 3.0 compliant jailbreaking tool. As always, the first to be updated is the Mac version of PwnageTool, whereas Windows version and QuickPwn will arrive in the following days.
